Ethos Education is recruiting a Head of Business for a high performing secondary school in Surrey. This is a permanent leadership role starting in September 2026.
Business is a successful and popular subject within the school, with strong uptake at both GCSE and A Level. Students are ambitious, outcomes are consistently strong and the subject has a clear place within the sixth form offer.
The school is looking for someone who can lead the department with clarity and consistency, maintaining high standards while continuing to develop the curriculum and support student achievement.
The role
• Leading Business Studies across Key Stage 4 and Key Stage 5
• Supporting curriculum development and department strategy
• Teaching GCSE and A Level Business
• Monitoring progress and outcomes across the subject
• Supporting and developing colleagues within the department
• Promoting high standards of teaching, learning and assessment
The department
The department is established and well resourced, with strong uptake at sixth form level and a collaborative approach to planning. Students engage well with the subject and respond positively to teachers who can bring commercial understanding and clear explanation into the classroom.
The candidate
• Qualified Teacher Status
• Degree in Business, Economics or a related subject
• Experience teaching Business Studies at KS4 and KS5
• Strong classroom practice and subject knowledge
• Leadership experience or readiness to step into a middle leadership role
• Teaching Economics would be an advantage
