SEND Teaching Assistant role available in SW London
This diverse and friendly primary school in Surbiton is now looking for a SEND Teaching Assistant to join the support staff team, to start ASAP. Positions are available across EYFS, KS1 and KS2.
Located in Surbiton, this school is easily accessed thanks to great transport links and parking available.
Working full time as a SEND Teaching Assistant you will be:
- Supporting children with SEND, both within the classroom and in smaller groups or on a 1:1 basis where necessary, ensuring they are able to access the full curriculum
- Delivering specific learning interventions, monitoring the progress of key children – 1:1 and in small groups
- Planning further intervention sessions based on key children’s progress
- Providing support for key children to reach any targets and objectives on their EHCPs
- Creating a positive learning environment which is safe and stimulating, and allows each child to feel supported and to thrive personally, socially and academically
- Supporting non-verbal children with Speech & Language activities
- Working closely with class teachers and senior leaders
This is a long-term and full-time SEND TA position to work Monday-Friday, 8:30am-3:45pm, and to last until the end of the academic year in July. Working long term will allow you to really become a part of the school community, working with friendly and like-minded staff in a supportive and encouraging work environment.
As this is a role to last until the end of the school year, you will be able to see how your key children progress across the year thanks to your help and support, making it a very rewarding role and you will see first-hand the difference you’re making. There is also the potential for the position to become permanent in the future for the suitable SEND Teaching Assistant.
Prior experience in a childcare setting would be desirable for this SEND Teaching Assistant position.
