Are you a Primary Teaching Assistant looking to work with children with SEND?

An inclusive and friendly primary school located in Mill Hill, Barnet is currently looking for a SEND Teaching Assistant to start ASAP, joining the KS1 support staff team. 

Working with children within Key Stage 1 as a SEND TA, some of your duties on a day-to-day basis will include:   

  • Supporting and working 1:1 with key children to reach the targets on their EHCPs  
  • Delivering learning interventions to students 1:1 and in small groups, monitoring and analysing the progress they make both academically and socially
  • Ensuring children with SEND are able to access the full curriculum and can join in any activities available, encouraging them to engage and interact with other children
  • Providing pupils with a range of learning strategies 
  • Supporting non-verbal children with Speech and Language activities 
  • Encouraging development of vocabulary through speech, reading and writing  
  • Supporting children with SEND in an inclusive environment  

This KS1 SEND Teaching Assistant position is to work full time Monday-Friday (8:30am-3:45pm) and to last long-term until the end of the academic year in 2025, with the possibility of becoming permanent thereafter. Across the school year, you will be able to see the progress and development made by your key children as a result of your support and hard work – this makes it a very rewarding role.
