Are you a passionate Product Design Teacher looking for an exciting opportunity in a high-achieving, well-resourced school? A leading secondary school in North London is seeking a Design & Technology Teacher (specialising in Product Design) for a maternity cover position. This is an excellent opportunity for an Early Career Teacher (ECT) looking for fantastic support or an experienced teacher keen to bring their expertise to a thriving and innovative department.

Your Role:

  • Deliver engaging and high-quality Product Design lessons across Key Stages 3 & 4, using both traditional and digital design techniques.
  • Encourage creative thinking and problem-solving, helping students to bring their design concepts to life.
  • Make use of state-of-the-art workshops and digital tools to teach CAD/CAM, prototyping, and material processing.
  • Support students in GCSE coursework projects, ensuring they develop strong practical and theoretical knowledge.
  • Contribute to extracurricular design clubs, competitions, and industry-linked projects.

What We’re Looking For:

  • A qualified teacher (QTS or equivalent) with a specialism in Product Design and experience in Design & Technology.
  • Enthusiasm for hands-on, practical teaching, bringing creativity and innovation to lessons.
  • A commitment to developing students’ design and engineering skills, preparing them for further education and industry opportunities.
  • Someone eager to work collaboratively within the DT team, sharing best practices and resources.
